Sometimes slight modifications are all it takes to save an animal population. Vermont knows that. So, they created little tunnels under a stretch of train tracks where the turtles needed to go from one swamp to another. Bravo!!!
Josh from "Its Tiger Time" invented You Tube Tuesday so we could each share one video a week which we found to be fun, inspiring or otherwise noteworthy. If you choose to participate, don't forget to leave your links in my comments section (so I can come visit you) and on Josh's page (so you can be part of the contest). I hope you like this week's selection!
I enjoyed this so much I might have to feature him again in the future...

The best presents are ones that show the person really knows what makes you smile. I got a few gifts like that this week for my birthday and one of them was a turtle video! (Thank you, Corinne.) Despite the fact that Crush is my favorite turtle character ever to grace the big screen, I had not seen him sing Happy Birthday until last week. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
P.S. I don't know when Pokey's birthday is exactly, but I got her as a birthday present when I turned 14. I celebrate her birthday sometime around mine each year. So, today, let's sing it for her.

This is my "just for fun" blog in honor of my turtle Pokey. I read a lot of wacky news as research for my silly rhyming poetry blog. Occasionally I come across a fun story about turtles. I also like to write about people who are helping save the turtles now and fun ways you can make a difference too. If you are interested in sharing a turtle photo or drawing or want to do a guest post here, please email pokeyspals[at]gmail[dot]com.
